[3:4]  ² tn The verb form is an imperfect, which is probably used here in a customary sense to indicate continued or repeated action in past time. See GKC 314 §107.b.

[6:8]  ³ tc The Hebrew text has “middle,” but the remainder of the verse suggests this is an error.

[6:8]  ⁴ tn Heb “by stairs they went up.” The word translated “stairs” occurs only here. Other options are “trapdoors” or “ladders.”
